The First 2 Weeks

So we've been in our new home for two weeks now.  We found a wonderful community with a nice playground, common pools and lots of streets for our kids to bike around in.  All 3 kids have found  English speaking friends and our outside playing almost everyday.

The house we rented was furnished, we've had a few minor problems but so far the property manager has made sure to resolve them as soon as possible.

Getting some things have been a challenge, particularly when you don't speak Spanish.  Fortunately our leasing agent has been more then happy to make calls for us on our behave when it comes to hooking up the phones/Internet and dish.  We still have to set up a bank account that should be interesting!!

Things are much cheaper here,  a 3 months supply of propane gas which heats your water and is used by your stove will cost you $70.  Our phone, Internet and dish is costing us $40 per month.  Car insurance for six months is $400.00.  I purchased some beautiful 15 inch hanging baskets of flowers and they cost less then $5.00 each.  I have found a hair salon that will do my hair for half of what I paid back home.

Now for the Ugly side of Cabo.  If you didn't already know Cabo is a dessert and because of this water needs to be conserved for the most part.  One way they save water is by using the grey water "septic tank water" to water all parks and green spaces.  Unfortunately throughout the day you can always count on the lovely smell of sewage in the air.  Not so nice in  place that's suppose to be paradise.
